Weedmaps, Green Bits Partner on POS
IRVINE, Calif. – Weedmaps will partner with Green Bits to deliver point-of-sale (POS) technology solutions to aid retail dispensary owners and patients/consumers.
Integration of Weedmaps’ newly developed application program interface (API) with Green Bits’ POS system will enable dispensary owners to automate previously labor-intensive and time-consuming menu updates, inventory, sales and other information with speed and accuracy.
For dispensary owners currently using Weedmaps and Green Bits POS system, there will be no changes to how the current POS system operates—just more features.
The technology integration will enable every menu update – from inventory, price, weights, lab testing, etc. – within the Green Bits POS to automatically update in real time on Weedmaps’ apps and website, after an initial testing phase.
That will also give Weedmaps’ customers reliable and up-to-date menu and pricing information prior to arriving at a dispensary, and also reduce the number of hours spent by dispensary owners and staff updating menus
“This partnership delivers untouchable technology solutions that will improve bottom-lines for dispensary owners,” said Ben Curren, Green Bits founder and CEO. “We’re proud to partner with a market leader and innovator like Weedmaps, and we look forward to exploring even more ways to address the cannabis industry’s ongoing technology needs.”
“Green Bits is constantly adding new features, and this is a big one. To have Green Bits auto-generate our inventory into Weedmaps and be 100-percent accurate is a great step forward for us,” said Gabe Fertman, general manager of Dockside Cannabis, a licensed dispensary located in Washington state.
Weedmaps is one of the first to offer this integrated technology solution, which will begin to roll out to Weedmaps and Green Bits partners across the Pacific Northwest, followed by Colorado and other key states throughout summer 2016.
“Cannabis technology is fragmented by region and the diverse needs of each business, and is further complicated by the explosive growth of the market,” said Doug Francis, Weedmaps CEO. “Our partnership with Green Bits will help dispensary owners improve business operations while also saving time and money. We look forward to working with even more partners on our mission to provide the most up-to-date, reliable and trustworthy information available in the industry.”
