The Hemp University Announces First Workshop of 2020
The Hemp University will host its first educational workshop of the year, New Leaf Symposium, and its Golden Grow Awards Gala, an initiative to recognize, evaluate and honor excellence in the industrial hemp space. The New Leaf Symposium takes place from 11 a.m. PST to 7 p.m. PST on Jan. 26, at The Schoolhaus Ballroom in Jacksonville, Oregon.
The event will begin with an educational symposium and will conclude with the Golden Grow Awards Gala. Filmmaker Greg Moring will be filming the New Leaf Symposium and will collect hemp testimonies for his upcoming documentary, “Hemp Is Back.”
The daytime event includes panel discussions, facilitated networking, the opportunity to speak with vendors, and a lunch buffet.
The Golden Grow Awards Gala is a competition that honors Oregon’s top cultivars. The awards ceremony will put Oregon’s best farmers head-to-head in an effort to be awarded with some of the most prestigious hemp-industry accolades. The categories of the Golden Grow Awards are Top CBD, Top Terpenes, Judge’s Favorite, and Peoples’ Choice.
The focus of the New Leaf Symposium is “Regeneration” in an effort to celebrate optimism and resilience in the industry, the power of the plant, and faith in the hemp-producing community. In cooperation with the Southern Oregon Hemp Co-Op, funds raised from the New Leaf Symposium will be equally divided into three areas: Support for bereaved families, Collective-Use Farm Equipment, and Support for representatives and counsel doing advocacy work in both Salem and Washington on behalf of the hemp industry. Proceeds from each New Leaf Symposium ticket purchase will be contributed to the fundraiser.
