Idaho House Committee Kills Hemp Legalization Bill
A bill that would legalize hemp production and transportation in Idaho has failed in the state’s legislature. The House State Affairs Committee voted 8 to 7 to kill the bill previously approved by the state’s Senate.
Senate Bill 1345 would have allowed the production, transportation and sale of hemp or hemp products containing .3% or less of THC. CBD, however, would not have been legalized by the bill.
The 2018 Farm Bill made hemp production federally legal; however, hemp production remains illegal in Idaho and Mississippi. A hemp legalization bill is currently makings its way to the desk of South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem.
